I love when my clients have a vision of what they are looking for in their engagement photos. This graphic designer and his lovely fiance were definitely the ideal client! They were both kind, relaxed, and willing to walk around on a super hot Texas summer day! This rooftop view was beautiful and I'm glad it was on their list of places to shoot! Check out a few pictures from the session, below.
Two of my friends got engaged and I was honored when they told me they knew they wanted me to take their engagements. Not only are they sweet souls, but they are pretty easy on the eyes, which made for a dreamy morning rooftop photo shoot. Then, the shoot got even better when we moved to simple white + gray back drops and they just posed together. Yep. It was like shooting a vogue cover. Thankful for creative clients (the editorial black + whites were Molly's idea), who are also my friends. Can't wait to see what the future holds for these two love birds because I know God's got something great in mind.
So excited to share this lovely couple's engagement shoot at Laguna Gloria! They have such a candidness about them that made photographing their love super easy. I will be shooting their wedding in November and can't wait to photograph their special day!
Y'all. This couple + this space? Yea, they are as cute as they look. Not in a cheesy/ mushy/ perfect life kind of way, but in a real, raw, genuine kind of way. This space is small - the wide angle lens and pictures make it look bigger than it actually is, but it is filled with so much love and adventure. Courtney + Brendan were kind enough to let me crash at their place while I visited San Francisco this past week. They gave me an air mattress and so much more. They were the perfect hosts/ tour guides and I immediately felt right at home. Courtney and I had great conversation over wine and photo adventures, while Brendan and I bonded over coffee shops + our love for multiple cups of coffee a day. I got to see into their cozy* (sometimes forced due to small living space) life in San Francisco and it was lovely to be around such genuine people. Life is messy and isn't always what pictures make it, but I thought these pictures captured the love that dwells within this tiny studio apartment near DT San Francisco. They are celebrating their third wedding anniversary today and I am so thankful that I was able to witness (literally, up close and personal) the love that they have for each other. They treat each other with respect + love and have a connection that is apparent as soon as you see them stare into each others eyes and make a goofy face. Thanks Court + Brendan for making my trip so much better than I could have imagined! May you two have many, many, many more anniversaries to celebrate! Also, check out Court's pictures from our adventures on her blog!
Instagram. To most, its just an app on a cell phone, but, to some, it is so much more than that. It is community, self expression, connection, and inspiration. It is easy to get consumed by social media and its expectations, I agree. It is easy to see people's pictures/ lifestyle and be envious or jealous. But what if our perspective changed? Maybe instead of envy, we feel joy because in that moment, that person on your feed found something to be happy about, or thankful for, and decided to post about it. Instead of thinking everyone is trying to make their lives 'seem' great, but maybe thinking that in that moment their life is great. It is easy to get consumed with what we do not have after seeing what others have, but what if we were happy for them? This may not always work, but instead of blaming an app for what it might be doing to our lives, maybe we should take a look at how closely we are letting it affect our thoughts? No, life isn't perfect. But why is it such a bad thing to just share some of its goodness through an app that allows us to interact with lovely people and friends.
This is just part of the lovely conversation I had with my sweet friends Elise + Scott Grice. I actually met them through instagram and am so thankful for that! They have a beautiful feed that is representative of their business, Hey Sweet Pea. They are open + honest about some parts of life, but are not concerned with sharing everything. This is a boundary that is sometimes hard to create. I featured these two on Made with Love a few months back and have loved getting to know them. They are currently starting a new adventure in their trailer, Finn. They will be traveling around the U.S., meeting some of their clients/ students and working on their business on the road. I met them out at Mckinney State Park while they were in Austin and these are a few pictures from the magical evening!
