We love spending the first day in the city just walking around and familiarizing ourselves. Here is a list of all of the DT spots we wandered into!

We headed inland to visit as many waterfalls as we could! We stopped at Latourell Falls, Multnomah Falls, + Wahclella Falls (our favorite). Then we continued its to Hood River where we stopped at pFriem Family Brewers for lunch. We also hung out at a park by the water and were amazed by the talented wind/ para surfers!

We drove through the beautiful mountains and ended up at Cape Kiwanda. This place was stunning and the weather was perfect. Oh, and we saw WHALES!! Probably one of the best parts of the day. We ended up eating lunch at a small bakery in Pacific City where we got sandwiches the most delicious coconut-white chocolate-macadamia nut-cookie!
After exploring Cape Kiwanda we headed up the coast along the Three Capes Scenic route and ended at Cape Meares. Then we headed back to the city for dinner at Bamboo Sushi. I really loved being able to walk from our hotel to dinner.

Surprisingly enough, I didn't even take my camera into the Zoo or the Japanese gardens. It was nice to just enjoy those places with Michael , walking hand in hand, really observing everything. I think as a photographer, I feel this pressure (although a lot of the time I don't mind it) to be capturing every moment. There are some times when I feel bad if my camera isn't glued to my hand, like I'm missing some sort of opportunity. I am thankful to have a handsome guy that helps bring me back to reality and remove some of that pressure. However, I do have a handful of iphone shots for documentary purposes!
Later that day, I took my camera out at Cathedral Park and got this shot:
